It's about fashion(girls in!): i don't know how to style this zara piece?

the garment looks like a rectangle when lied on a flat surface. It is striped black and white in 1cm(s) and it is a flexible, sleeve-less cotton top. The PROBLEM IS: when you wear it on your body, the 1/3 half of the garment filps down forming a free-style collar around the neck. Which I tend to gather around and drip it down at the front. I don't know what jacket to pair with it regardless of the colour, and I don't know what to do with the collar when I wear the piece alone. Mind you, despite my unclear, almost bizarre description, the garment is nothing near to a funky fashion piece, instead it is supposed to look very classy.
